The Aspen ST is an ultra-low-profile racing tyre designed primarily for use on short XC courses. Sometimes known as the “Fastpen”, this tyre gives any rider a competitive edge in dry conditions. 

Rubber: MaxxSpeed. 
Casing: 170 TPI + EXO Team Spec (Ultra-light XC). 
The 2.40″ sizes are optimised for rims with an internal width of 30mm.

Maxxis Aspen Team ST 29x2.40WT

MAXXSPEED
The new MaxxSpeed (2023) is our flagship rubber compound for cross-country racing. It is a high-silica compound that reduces rolling resistance whilst improving traction in wet conditions. Compared to the previous 3C MaxxSpeed, the new compound offers approximately 25% lower rolling resistance under laboratory conditions (using the same tread pattern, construction and tyre pressure). In real-world conditions, our tests show that the new compound can save up to one minute over the course of a 90-minute race.

EXO
EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material applied to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tyres. This tightly woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that tyre performance is not compromised. Choose EXO protection for increased durability in gravel, XC and light trail riding.

TUBELESS READY
Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres offer better traction, lower rolling resistance and fewer punctures thanks to the elimination of the inner tube. Use lower pressures to improve grip and control. Look for the “TR” marking on the tyre sidewall.
