REYNOLDS 80 CLINCHER
UD carbon
Height: 80mm
Width: 21mm front / 24mm rear
Internal width: 14mm front / 16mm rear
Reynolds uses the CR6 Hybrid Carbon. This is the same carbon fiber found in the Aero line of wheels. It's used in both lines because it allows a high level of torsional and lateral rigidity without the detriment of stacking grams.
The Reynolds 80 has received Reynolds' Swirl Lip Generator (SLG) technology. It's easy to miss, but the leading edge of the rim features a 0.9mm lip in order to widen it near the spoke face. Accordingly, this minimizes pressure drag by reducing side forces on the rim, leaving room for responsiveness and weight to be the paramount characteristics of the Reynolds 80. And along these lines, you'll find that the wheels roll up to speed quickly, and demand less user-force to keep them there. Additionally, its exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio guarantees a nimble reaction to your force when you jump to pin down a climbing break.
With the Reynolds 80, Reynolds also addressed an all-too-common ailment to carbon clinchers -- poor braking. The solution was found through the development of what Reynolds calls its Crynogenic Glass Transition Braking System (CTg). Essentially, this is a patented braking design that required both a redesign of the brake track laminate and pads. Accordingly, CTg uses a temperature-conductive laminate at the brake track's transition points that withstands higher levels of heat than typical carbon laminates.
Every wheelset includes two pairs of brake pads, carbon rims specific.
Hub features:
AMERICAN CLASSIC Micro 58 front - RD 205 rear
Bill Shook designed the RD 205 hub to achieve four goals, stiff, strong, light and reliable. At 205 grams, it is one of the lightest, quiet riding hubs on the market. The large diameter 17mm axle is stiff and maintains proper bearing alignment under all riding conditions. The flange spacing was designed for optimal dishing. The hub shell supports the bearings as wide as possible for maximum leverage to reduce the load on the bearing and stiffen the hub. Adjustable bearings and patented sleeve technology for ease of adjustment and improved bearing life. Every part of the RD 205 has been engineered and thoroughly tested for fast, reliable racing and riding.

Our wheels are built by hand in house by highly specialized personnel.
The Bikeonline staff uses the best professional tools on the market into each step of the wheelbuilding process. The P&K Lie truing stand is one example, it allows us to check perfect truing through precise decimal comparators (0.1 millimeters accuracy).
We build most of the tools we use, to fit the level of our builds, which require a high accuracy.
The use of different tensiometers as Park Tool, Pillar and DT Swiss allows us to reach the correct tensions of every spokes.
Each wheel is pre-stressed by hand to ensure that nothing has been settling during the early stages of use and that the spoke tension remains constant for a long time even under very high loads.
